In a less-ordinary and beautiful pairing of vocals and (many) strings, six of Singapore’s most prolific singer-songwriters came together for a one-night-only sold-out concert SINGER-SONGWRITERS: SOME STRINGS ATTACHED, in February 2022. weish, Jack & Rai, lewloh, Jaime Wong, Amanda Tee, and Krysta Joy took the stage alongside a seven-piece string ensemble and a rhythm band led by veteran Music Director Bang Wenfu as they reimagined and performed their songs in an intimate setting. Featuring fresh interpretations of previously released songs which include lewloh’s ‘grow together’ that features all artists, Weish’s refreshingly haunting take on sub:shaman’s ‘To the Bone’, Jaime Wong’s ‘Breakeasy’ which features a live trumpet solo, Krysta Joy’s heartwarming arrangement of ‘Hold Me’, and an unreleased performance of ‘The End’ by Jack & Rai, audiences were brought on a theatrical and immersive journey through themes of heartbreak and love, despair and hope, and transformation. With local veteran music composer-arranger Bang Wenfu helming the music rearrangement and direction, SINGER-SONGWRITERS: SOME STRINGS ATTACHED was brought to life at a time when live performances were starting to make a return.
