Emily McNally (she/they) is a queer NYC-based singer/songwriter creating a soundtrack for her lovelorn and existential generation of young people. With vulnerable lyricism, Emily confronts her own naivete and yearning in layers of lush vocals coupled with sweet melodies. With a genre-fluid, world-building approach to songwriting, Emily creates intricate soundscapes for her storytelling. They hope to make a time capsule of the emotional turmoil of queer adolescence in order to ease the sense of loneliness in others (and themself), and create a community of misfits through their music. Emily moved to New York City in 2014 to pursue their dreams and an NYU degree. She released her first EP, Small Town EP, which was a simple collection of reflections on her high school experiences in small town suburbia. The past two years were spent gigging constantly around the city, from famed venues like Rockwood Music Hall and The Bitter End to local coffeehouses and bars. 2019 brought the release of The Gardener EP, which featured a range of styles from synth pop to acoustic folk. Since then there have been multiple collaborations with up and coming pop producers from around the world. Her set of singles, made entirely by herself in her bedroom on her iPhone, are set to be released throughout 2021. IG: @emilymcnallysings
