Chief Rocka has been Intrigued with music since he experienced his first breakbeat record,Walt Disney's Mouseke Dances and other favorites.The album intro was his favorite part of the whole record.His Aunt would yell about he kept repeating the one part over and over and how he was going to break the needle. He then went on to discover the music genre of Rap.The first vinyl he owned was The Fat Boys " In jail" his second was Public Enemy was "Yo Bumrush the Show" His music influences became vast with artist like RUN-DMC /BDP to EPMD ATCQ to NWA.From a young age has seen the genre of Hip-Hop/Rap go through it phases through at least 25 of its 41 year history. In the mid 80's to mid 90's he tuned in and recorded on cassette tape 98.7Kiss Kool Dj Red Alert and 107.5 WBLS The Mr. Magic Rap Attack Show. In the mid 90's was when is when he really delved into his craft and formed the Hip Hop Group Down N Dirty Tribe.This was when he was dubbed with Big Chief, which he has carried with him through several groups.
