Australian born, Melbourne hills boy Emlyn, whose nickname was “Wak G” in highschool, started writing music at the age of eight. Having strong interest in keyboards and strange sounds, he’s the black sheep in a family of horticulturalists. At 16 got his first computer audio software, and bought an audio setup including a Yamaha keyboard while living in Japan in 1999 at the age of 17. He’s been DJing all over Melbourne since the age of 18, and has been known as emlynwakg (alt artist name) since 2007. He’s been getting his bread and butter as a radio production engineer for 16 years, but has never stopped creating music. He’s a song writer, producer, sound engineer and recording artist, YouTuber (Emlyn in the Mix) and Podcaster (Emlyn in the Mix). His home studio includes (nerd alert) Nord, Korg, Dave Smith and Novation synthesizers and some impressive recording and audio production equipment. He’s currently working with some cool artists, and is pretty excited about the future.
