COMBSY is proof that the whole is better than the sum of its parts – even when the parts are all really, really good. Each member of the four-piece indie rock band from Tulsa has achieved their own measure of music industry success, but it took a global pandemic for the lifelong friends to form a band and start writing songs together. Chris Combs (guitar, keys) and Josh Raymer (drums, electronics) first performed together with some of the top jazz musicians in the world on numerous projects, tours and festivals; Aaron Boehler (bass, keys) has been in high-demand as a world-touring session musician for a wide variety of artists; and Costa Upson (lead vocals, keys, electronics) has been producing, engineering, writing and performing on projects with independent and known artists alike for nearly two decades. Together they create a blend of experimental music that is both complex and inviting, with a pop sensibility drawing comparison to artists like M83 and Radiohead but ultimately defying description. COMBSY has been melting faces across the region with their live show since 2021 and their highly-anticipated full length album is out Fall 2023.
