Biography

Born in Gary, Indiana and raised in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia. Tyshawn is ready to conquer the world with his synth-heavy ambience, soft airy vocals, and abstract lyrics. As a black LGBTQ+ artist, Tyshawn finds it very imperative to showcase his abilities to the general public; he feels as though the black LGBQT+ community has been robbed of proper representation in the film and music industries for too long. “I want to show those young gay black boys, like myself, who were outcast that it is very possible for us to dominate and take up space at the table amongst the industry’s big dogs. — It is very possible for us to shine without using our skills and expertise to create the next superstar. We’re more than makeup artists, hairstylists, and fashion stylists. All due respect to those in those lanes.” Growing up, Tyshawn’s biggest music influences included Aaliyah, Janet Jackson, Beyoncé, Rihanna and Mariah Carey. “As a child, I was very intrigued by the Superstar troupe. I always wanted to move like a superstar. Seeing people dominate musically and put their hearts into their live shows really left an impression on me. I knew what had to be done.” Aside from being a superstar, Tyshawn's focus on songwriting is also pretty significant. Ranging from the seductive and scandalous storytelling on "Hol' Up" to the upbeat, ambitious "Normal Boy" — Tyshawn's music focuses on the romantic hardships of black gay men. "Static Major & SZA were my biggest songwriting influences."
