Biography

Fredrick Wilson, III (A.K.A.) Check’a Fred is a Chicago rapper, songwriter, producer, and a businessman. Growing up in church, he started his music journey at the age of 11 when his father taught him how to play piano and drums. After discovering his love for music, he taught himself how to produce music and started releasing music under the name "Young Check’a” at the age of 13. In 2017 he decided to go with the stage-name Check’a Fred and released his single “Fur Elise Rap,” which started to gain international acclamation, then she tarted featuring on songs with popular local Chicago artists like KaJahn Ari on the “Pressure” to gain popularity in his city. In 2021, he graduated from SAE Institute for Audio Engineer and began working on his debut album "Check Mate !," which he released in the beginning of 2021 with production credits from Check'a Fred himself, and other producers from his class. In 2023, he released his single "Steppin'" to help his continuation of popularity in the rap scene as he prepares to release his sophomore project "Mic Check"
