Born and raised in the UK, Shani is a third-generation British artist with roots in the Caribbean, tracing her heritage to Jamaica, Dominica, Grenada, and Trinidad & Tobago. Her family's rich cultural tapestry deeply influenced her upbringing, instilling in her a passion for the arts from a young age. Shani's artistic journey has been shaped by her love for music, drama, theatre, playwriting, and songwriting. As a young Black woman in England, she channels her life experiences into her music, using her art as a powerful means of expression. Her musical palette is as diverse as her heritage, drawing inspiration from R&B, Motown, Funk, Soul, Reggae, Hip-hop, Classical, House, and Afro-beats, among others.
