Sandile Myeni, well known as “Kaptain Monate”, Lyricist and Songwriter,is an aspiring hit maker in the music industry. Born and raised in Johannesburg,Soweto-home to many legends-Kaptain Monate’s Role Models were rappers like Chaka Dolla and DARKIE.Following the lead of trailblazers he started making music in 2022 at the age of 18 . Kaptain Monate has worked with popular artists from his township such as Hlonivic;Lorenzo and Shortgun just to name a few and has been flourishing since then. The sound made by Kaptain is what the street calls “sgija”,an Amapiano sub genre mixed with Rap,another name- “Gangster Musiq”.
