Jodean Pitter, known mononymously as Babi Shi, is a Jamaican rapper, singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur. Babi Shi initially gained recognition in 2017 in Miami with songs such as Low Low, Dem Fake, and Jus Come. He went on to release his first Mixtape titled “Birth of the Babi” in 2018, that continued his buzz in Miami. He’s performed at several shows since. Born and raised in Spanish Town, Shi is one of five children and came from a musical family which exposed him to a diverse mix of genres including: reggae, dancehall, jazz, and R&B. Both his mother and father were singer. Shi was heavily influenced by music from a very young age, which continued through adulthood. He’s currently working on his second EP. with the single “She was my friend” set to be release Valentine’s Day 2019.
