Ruairidh Johnston, also known as 'Ru', composes music using the electrical signals from plants. By measuring the changes in a plant's electrical voltage Ru allows these signals to control the pitch and tempo of modern and vintage synthesizers, enabling soundscapes and melodies to be designed directly by the energy of nature. Ruairidh applies this unique approach to the underground rap scenes both in the U.K. and US, and has claimed his position as a prolific loop maker and ambient composer.
