In 1998, the origin of 880 South came from the ashes of a once boisterous Cactus Club alt-rock scene in Northern California. Originally known as the Floppy Rods, they transformed their funk-laden sound in 2002 and became 880 South. Classic Rock, Soul & Reggae are the common denominators in this musical math concoction. However it is the Motown and Hip-Hop influence reinforced by groove rhythms and pocket-funk theory that complete the equation.
