Indy Angel is a singer songwriter from Melbourne, Australia. She began songwriting in 2018 while studying to be a Musical Theater performer in college. She learned to channel vulnerability and sensitivity through writing while discovering how much it served as her place of refuge. Indy grew up around all sorts of music and arts as a child, citing Joni Mitchell, Elton John and Carole King as artists she’d loved as early as she could remember. An incredible opportunity presented itself in mid 2019 when a song she wrote titled ‘Regardless’ was released by Broadway artist Arielle Jacobs. This helped jump start her career as a writer. At the beginning of 2020 Indy wrote song after song until she had a full musical song cycle for an ensemble called ‘Tragic’ which debuted in July 2022. She eventually released her debut single, ‘Move On.’ in August of 2020 to critical acclaim and constant rotation on Australian staple Triple J Unearthed. Indy would describe herself as authentic, vulnerable, relatable, and comfortable, which come out in the stories she tells through her songs and the way she lives her life. Since her previous release, she continues to explore new sounds while developing her songwriting and living life as she continues to evolve as an artist. She loves and remains inspired by Maggie Rogers, Sigrid, Meg Mac, Lennon Stella amongst today’s contemporaries.
