Soul-pop singer/songwriter Melany Watson’s aesthetic is a mix of modern and classic with a dash of southern ambience. Melany’s musicality channels 90s pop artists like Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, with a tastefully textured vibe that conjures a throwback to a Carole King-like writing style steeped in the storyteller lineage of country music passed on to her from her Houston, TX. Melany blossomed as an performer while pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Commercial Music - Voice Principal with an emphasis in Music Business at Belmont University and in venues all over Nashville, TN. 
 Since moving to NYC, Melany has performed with Tori Kelly, The Roots, BIRDY, Alessia Cara, Marc E Bassey, Bebe Rexha, MAZ, LORDE, Rayvon Owen, Kelsea Ballerini, Macy Gray and Leona Lewis. She has performed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, The Today Show, Live with Kelly, The View, Wendy Williams, The Elvis Duran Morning Show, Good Morning America and Late Night with Seth Meyers. 
 Summer 2015, she was awarded the highly coveted Abe Olman Scholarship via SESAC for her excellence in songwriting, joining highly respected previous winners such as John Legend, Comic Heroes, Bebe Rexha and Lori McKenna. Most recently, her song “Point Blank” (Sung by Donna Missal) was featured on the Fox TV series LUCIFER. 
 2019, Melany will be releasing her first full length album produced by Brad Allen Williams (Jose James) will also be featured on Justin Stanton’s (Snarky Puppy) debut Album.
