Biography

Whorticulture is a lesson in how it should be done. With resourcefulness, ingenuity, and an indomitable spirit that can be felt with every beat, Whorticulture is catching on with the masses. What started as a humble experiment with their debut song Necessary Endings in 2019, Niko Van Steenhoven and Eric Everhart have found a niche in dark electronic dance music that manages to both follow large footsteps and carve a new path. Eschewing the album model and sticking with well crafted dance floor bangers has proven a solid method. Every track, every syllable, is honed with painstaking clarity of message. And there is no slowing down. From being featured on Daniel Graves’ “This is Industrial Pop” playlist, showcased on Communion After Dark, to sharing the stage with bands like Aesthetic Perfection, Seraphim Shock, and Frontline Assembly, this band is quickly becoming a staple on physical and digital dancefloors around the world. In 2022, they toured with international icons Solar Fake on their highly anticipated North American tour, which took their high energy and infectious live show to another level across their home continent. Their inspired cover of Crucify by Tori Amos, their recent collaboration with Sven Friedrich of Solar Fake, and their diverse and creative fan base are all making waves in their own rights. The future is bright, even in such a ‘dark’ scene. Whorticulture is poised to become your new favorite band, whether you're ready for them or not.
