Luis burst into the latin music scene at an early age when he signed an International multi-album deal with WEA Latina (Warner Music) in 1996 and recorded his first Spanish language album, Solo. The first single was a cover of the Luis Miguel’s classic Me Niego Estar Solo and quickly became a radio favorite. However, it was his second single Vivir La Vida which became the breakaway hit that kept the album at the top of Billboard Magazine's Tropical charts. The same year, Luis Damon earned a nomination for Best New Male artist at the coveted Premio Lo Nuestro awards. In 1998 Luis recorded his second album for WEA Latina, Para Estar Contigo which featured a duet with Olga Tanon. Para Estar Contigo remained at the top of the billboard charts for over 22 weeks. The following year, Luis released his third Self titled CD, Luis Damon, which led him to embarking on a 35-city bus tour throughout the United States. After 9/11, noting that the music landscape had changed, Luis returned to NY where he continued working on his songwriting. Luis has recently released his latest EP titled Mis Mañanas which include 4 songs he wrote. His vision is to bring back the NY Style of salsa that captivated the world for many years. With the help of Adan Perez, a Bronx based multi talented Producer/arranger/pianist, that’s exactly what they intend to do. Enthusiastically, Luis is ready to share his musical vision with audiences both old and new who are eager to hear a fresh sound in Latin music.
