Biography

Natalie Insoande was born in Lisbon in 1981 and moved to Guinea-Bissau, her parents' homeland, at five. Her passion for music blossomed into a career when she returned to Lisbon and was encouraged by Cape Verdean musician Tito Paris to perform at B.Leza. This marked the start of her music journey, performing across Lisbon. In March 2006, Natalie achieved third place in the RTP Song Festival. Her academic pursuits later took her to London, pausing her musical career. Her reconnection with music occurred upon returning to Guinea-Bissau, where she enlivened various cultural evenings. Returning to Lisbon, Natalie enrolled in a Tourism course while working on her debut album. After a decade performing in Portugal, she recorded her first album with Tito Paris. In 2021, Natalie returned to the UK, focusing on promoting her music. Since then, she has performed in Blues and Jazz venues in London, infusing Guinean culture into her performances. Her return to Guinea-Bissau also saw her performing at high-profile events, including receptions at embassies, the EU, and the UN, as well as at cultural centers and private invitations. These experiences enriched her knowledge of Guinean music and culture, solidifying her reputation as a versatile artist.
