Kayla Allen, singer, songwriter raised in Montreal, QC born in Ottawa, ON. For as long as she can remember, music has been an important part of her life. Growing up with a DJ as a father broadened her exposure to various genres of music. Music very quickly became second nature to her. Having gained the confidence from performing on stage at a young age, her transition from high school talent shows to sold-out concert halls was instinctive. Kayla’s first single “Not Giving Up” celebrates her Jamaican background as a reggae riddim. It was release on iTunes in 2016. Not too long after that she spoiled her fans with 5 dancehall and reggae riddims, “Unruly Wine”, “Bad Cravings”, “Freaky Gyal”, “Family Prayer” and “Something About You” featuring dancehall artist Riigz. Kayla performed her singles at Jamaica Association, Canada Day parades and her biggest show yet, Jamaica Day. In 2018, she had the opportunity to open up for Jamaica’s dancehall recording artist, Konshens. In 2022, she released her 10 - track debut album entitled “More to Her” which displayed a perfect balance of both her fun, party side and emotional, vulnerable side. She later hit the road to Jamaica for interviews and performances. In 2023, she was blessed with the opportunity to open for Soca Princess, Nailah Blackman. Kayla continues to strengthen her craft with voice lessons, ear training and song writing.
