Biography

J Shiltz is a Toronto based Canadian hip-hop artist known for one thing and one thing only: kicking dope rhymes over dope beats. In 2011 he released his debut album “What I Stand For”. The album featured the Whose Got Next Stylus award winning single “Louder” produced by Kev Brown and singles “Gimme That Flow” Part 1 & Part 2 - with each respective music video seeing television airplay on MuchVibe. In 2013 Shiltz released his follow up album “Still Standing” featuring the Junia-T assisted and Rel McCoy produced single “From The Soul” and accompanying MuchVibe featured music video, plus the pHoenix Pagliacci assisted single “Dedication”. In 2017 J Shiltz and Royce Birth (now known as Stonam) united to form MC/Producer duo “The Outsiders” releasing a self titled album and sequel album two years later in 2019. In 2022 Shiltz concluded his trilogy of solo albums with “The Last Stand” - the album saw him reunite with producers such as Junia-T, Rich Kidd, Kev Brown, and Monoliths own Lancecape and Charisma and work with long time collaborators Grimace Love, pHoenix, and DJ Docta (now known as Lincoln Baio). Now with 5 full length albums under his belt and nothing to show for it but props and peace of mind J Shiltz is doing exactly what you would expect - coming back with a brand new project entirely produced by Monolith’s own Charisma, featuring a slew of Toronto’s dopest artists, releasing via Urbnet Records in a Summer of 2024, aptly titled - Forever The Artist.
