Take elements of Hip Hop, Grime, Soca, Jungle, Dancehall, Ska and Reggae, add conscious lyrics, big bass lines and the vibes of carnival and you start to get close to describing the 1212 Sound that people have grown to know They have releases on labels such as Late Night Tales, Scotch Bonnet , Irish Moss Records, Run Tingz Recordings , Sub Slayers, Uncommon Records and their own label 1212 Records. Grabbing people’s attention with now sought after pieces of vinyl like their cover of " Love Will Tear Us Apart, Raw and Disorder EP and summer Hip Hop anthem “Good Feelin” and reggae dance floor thumper “Don man Sound“, their singles have been play listed on MTV and regularly played on various Radio 1 shows. After years of honing their craft behind the mixing desk, all of their influences came together in a mashup of Hip Hop, Reggae, Jungle and Dancehall for their first LP. “The Return Of Rudy Nacho” , going straight to the top of sales charts in various shops across the world , it was embraced by fans, Dj’s and critics alike . Maxim from the Prodigy commented “luv it , we need more music like this!” and Roots Manuva posted 1212 music on his sites claiming “I fxxxxxg love that”. The lads received praise on the back of it from a whole range of people from Irvine Welsh to Don Letts putting them in his top 20 BBC Radio 6 tracks of that year. Recently we saw their bass heavy side project “Razor Gully” with Prophets of Rage/ Public Enemy’s Chuck D and Dj Lord.
