 Stockholm based double bassist and composer Jon Henriksson was born in Gothenburg. He has studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. He has also for a period of time lived and worked in Denmark, where he still frequently returns. In recent years Jon has gained a strong hold on the Scandinavian jazz scene and has collaborated with some of the top musicians in the area. He participates in several ongoing projects such as Håkan Broström Quartet, Håkan Broström New Places Orchestra, Rasmus Sørensen Trio, Britta Virves Trio, Aloft Quartet, Stockholm Hot Seven and many others. His debut album 'Harmonia' was released on April 14th 2023 on TengTones Records and features his Sextet consisting of altosaxophone, trumpet, trombone, piano, double bass and drums. The music is a dynamic and emotionally stimulative type of modern jazz with both lustful and melancholic elements.
