Video games, anime, and Mr. Rogers defused through indie R&B and bedroom pop. mithrilblue contrasts his minimal aesthetic style between bright nostalgic moods and thick boom-bap grooves for an exciting breath of a sweet, yet heavy, atmosphere. William Brucker, known as “Willie” to friends and family, moved with his family to Portland, Oregon in 1999. He first became passionate about music through his discovery of artists like Kid Cudi and Jon Bellion starting in his middle school years. However, it wasn't until his senior year of High School that he began writing music as a rapper. In the Spring of 2020, like most artists, the pandemic quarantine left the Portland artist to a lot of "soul searching." It was then that he discovered a new found love and passion for singing and producing through making songs for his wife. “I just started making music for her. My wife has really good and particular taste in music. Sometimes I'd literally just ask her, ‘What do you think should I do here?’ Overall she'd tell me, she likes chill groovy beats and most of all when I sing. So that's what I started doing.” His moniker “mithrilblue” was inspired by the fictional metal “mithril” from fantasy books, movies, and video games he enjoys such as ‘Lord of the Rings’ and ‘RuneScape.'
