Funebi Odede, popularly known by his stage name Funkcleff, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, record producer, and performing artist. Born and raised in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, he began his musical journey as a child performer in the barracks, entertaining policemen and patrons at a local spot called Bamboo. Funkcleff grew up in a Christian home where music was a significant part of family and church life. Participating in Children's Day celebrations and other church activities, he developed his musical talents alongside his siblings. He and his brothers formed a group, creating music with instrumentals and recording with a Walkman. After his formative years in Port Harcourt, Funkcleff moved to Bayelsa for his tertiary education. During this period, he refined his musical skills by singing in choirs and churches, further shaping his alternative and soul music style.
