The 18-piece orchestra has been founded in autumn 2013 and has since made its mark on the Finnish jazz orchestra scene. Unique instrumentation combined with refreshing repertoire make SJO special among big bands internationally. Sointi Jazz Orchestra specializes in new music, mainly from the 2000's.
