Hood Joplin is a Canadian electronic music producer and DJ blending rap, footwork, and experimental electronic music to create a unique sound. She gained recognition in Edmonotn's underground house party scene during the 2010s for her energizing sets that activated dancefloors. In addition to her albums (Bank Account, HAZARD, 75FFA1) and singles that are peppered throughout the internet, HJ curated DJ mixes for various outlets (Untitled 909, Apple Music, Thump) and contributed tracks to compilations worldwide (Moveltraxx, Kudatah, Infinite Drift, Manicure Records). She is a Red bull Music Academy Bass Camp alumnus and a Serato Sample Challenge finalist. HJ has played alongside legends such as Flying Lotus, Nikki Nair, Chippy Nonstop, Robert Hood, and DJ Taye. HJ's music reflects her passion for creating innovative beats that respectfully transcends genre and celebrates her desire to share energy through sound.
