Melbourne born singer/songwriter and musician Timothy Li discovered his love for songwriting in his late twenties. After studying music, performing and supporting several bands and artists, Timothy has unreservedly pursued his solo projects whilst discovering a sea change by living, recording and producing modern folk and indie originals close by Torquay with his family. Influenced by Bon Iver, Damien Rice, The Paper Kites, Joni Mitchell, Novo Amor, Fink & Garrett Kato’s songwriting, Tim’s music reflects a calm and gentle approach when independently writing, recording and producing music. With his classical piano background studying music performance, Timothy could never deny his love for crafting poetry and writing music. Tim is also a primary school teacher who performs regularly, recently forming ‘little lakes’ (with Etta Lane & Daisy Kilbourne) and continues to show his support accompanying artists in bands with Maddy May and other local folk artists in the Surfcoast region.
