Originally from Istanbul, Jamilah Harman has been shaped by her nomadic journey that began at a young age when she moved to the Dominican Republic. With a dash of poetry, influenced by eclectic standards of jazz, and a Turkish-Latino touch, her music is the culmination of a fusion of melodies that reach from the streets of Istanbul to the beaches of the Caribbean. After working as a lead singer with the Mexico-based project “Santo Color” and touring the world presenting their “Phoenix Tour”, Jamilah embarked on her solo journey, and is currently working on new material that incorporates elements of Latin American and Middle Eastern music.
