Biography

Daisy Chepchichir Ruto aka Amara Tari was born on 9th November 1995 in Kericho, Kenya. Amara lived a normal life of an international business person's daughter, traveling everywhere the money went for business outside African countries thus ending up in New Zealand at her younger age. Amara participated in several musical and modelling contests since childhood from performing for her mother, and at school to doing commercial jingles and modelling. Her very first public performance that gave birth to her accepting her musical talent was at age 8 doing “we belong together” by Mariah Carey during school entertainment. Ever since Amara turned 16 years, she has never looked back on her performing arts talents; she landed her first high school pageant, at 17 she got signed by Surazuri models, landed a commercial with Coca-Cola “Africa lets go crazy” campaign, was 2nd Runners Up in the Mr. and Miss USIU –Africa pageant, top 5 in the Miss Universe Kenya pageant, and worked with several other brands. In an interview and several discussions, Amara Tari names Rihanna as her biggest influence in music, entrepreneurial (fashion and design) and the philanthropy world. Meanwhile in the Local Scene, with Kagwe Mungai as her mentor from the budding of her professional career, she also admires Muthoni Drummer Queen's entrepreneurial game, Ajuma Nasenyana is an absolute icon in the modeling field, and one of her favorite singer/songwriters in Kenya at the moment is Xenia Manasseh.
