Calicko merges everything from hip hop and rock n roll down to cult classic films into his sound. This is the jackin sounds of Chicago pumped up on modern day techno and house aesthetics and washed down with a healthy dose of fun of course. He caught the DJ bug in the early 90’s and soon after that he was throwing his own parties, mixing a raw blend of Detroit, Chicago, NYC and European tracks. His addiction to tracking down such records made him launch himself into production finding the support from key techno and house producers / DJ’s within the NYC scene then who have now become legends. They gave hime the support and encouraged him to follow his passion and develop his unique sound.
