Biography

Madela is a female Electro Folk Music project born in Santiago, Chile on 2014. A dancing beat bet mixed with plastic atmospheres where digital electronic music merges with Latin-American folk, translating into hybrid hypnotic beats embedded with real time improvised flutes, percussion and singing. On 2017, Madela started including female artists as featured guests in its live sets and musical productions, thus linking with artists from different territories where we held our shows. On 2014 we began our first travels to the Andes Mountain Range where Magdalena Irarrazaval - founder & composer of Madela - discovers and engages with different communities, ancient languages and beats, unleashing this new project, which materializes an ethnical organic essence into digital plastic machines. Magdalena's search lands her in different South American countries, where she researches and seeks musical tools to guide Madela through a new Latin American electro experience. On 2015 María Paz Videla (improvisation, percussion) joins the project, contributing with assorted rhythmical combinations emerging from American and Afro-Latin Folk. This adds a polyrhythmic language to the composition, transforming every electronic pattern into a world of possibilities.
