Biography

CALIGUZ, formerly known as Lica De Guzman, is a Swiss artist of Filipino origin, born in Geneva in 1997. She began her career at the age of 4, revealing her talent at the Caribana Festival in 2004, where she was selected as one of the "Caribanakids". This experience opened doors for her in the music industry as a backing singer for Sonia Grimm In 2005, she took singing lessons and made a name for herself on Alain Morisod's show Les Coups de Coeur, where she was hailed as the "little Philippine pearl". She joins the Little Dreams Foundation, founded by Oriane and Phil Collins, which enables her to perform alongside renowned artists such as Lara Fabian and Phil Collins himself, as well as taking part in the Montreux Jazz Festival. In 2011, Lica De Guzman was named Ambassador for Peace at the Geneva Conference on Multiculturalism, where she championed social causes. In 2016, she took part in The Voice France, where she reached the knockout stage under the guidance of Florent Pagny, after which she took a break to devote herself to writing and her studies. In 2021, she adopted the name CALIGUZ and explored hip-hop/RnB, collaborating with artists such as Slimka In May 2024, she released her first EP, Calipso, showcasing her vocal mastery and authenticity. CALIGUZ is a rising star who is redefining the music scene with passion and creativity.
