MuffynMan, is an American hip hop recording artist and stone cold pimpalicious mac daddy from Saint Louis, Missouri. He is also the founder and CEO of RIP SQUAD ENTERTAINMENT LLC, an independent record label. Along with Metro Boomin, Smino, Tech N9ne and Nelly, MuffynMan is one of the few well-known Missouri-based artists to achieve musical success on the national level. Born in Saint Louis, Missouri, MuffynMan started rapping at the age of four. His early influences included recordings of Yo MTV Raps videos from his father's VHS collection. MuffynMan is noted for performing live tributes as a part of the spoken word group OutSpoken, in the presence of director Spike Lee and poet/activist Nikki Giovanni in 2011. After graduating from Jackson State University in 2012, he decided to take his talents overseas. He ended up spending a lot of time in Kenya by way of Amsterdam. There he met and worked with Kenyan rapper Shukid. After considering a career in Africa, MuffynMan moved back to the U.S. in 2013. In 2014, he released his third mixtape Dirty Dishes as a compilation of different rap and mixing styles he developed in college. In 2016, he released his first studio EP simply named 52.which featured production from ChopSquad DJ. The name 52 came from a bet made with a friend that he would create a new song every week for an entire year.
