Philly's notorious musician/producer Benjamin Oaks (fka drum&bass/dancehall.reggae producer V1TAL / fka hiphop producer SweetBeats) now releases triphop via his new moniker (nom de plume) - BenOaks. Benjamin Oaks grew up in a house like the show "Shameless"- in Chicago. He then was then "personification of the Allman Brother's "Midnight Rider" in his 20's- couch surfing around college towns like West Chester, Newark DE, Townsend, MD. He has spent most of his adult life in his beloved Philly (at his now infamous 'PunkRock Penthouse' at 12th & Spring Garden or at Pink Grenade Studios near the Art Museum). BenOaks bought his first drum machine at age 15 in 1993- an Alesis HR16b . He was supposed to go the music store to buy an amp to join this punk band. Music history was changed that day! :) In his 30's, Benjamin Oaks posted "Rappers & Singers WANTED" ads on Craigslist in every US city; & then travelled from city to city producing indie hiphop & R&B artists. The Bones Culture musical collaboration collective was born!
