Hound have established themselves as a formidable presence in the alternative rock scene, with a series of memorable single releases that have achieved national radio airplay from the likes of Steve Lamacq on BBC Radio 6 Music. Releasing their debut double EP, ‘Some Days Were Good…But Mostly It Was Grim' in April 2024 and conducting their first UK tour, Hound have raised their lo-fi slacker-rock sound to new heights with a powerful and energetic live show. Taking influence from artists including Weezer, Pavement, Parquet Courts, and Yuck, coming from a background of dream pop, shoegaze and metal; Hound have refined their own sound. Now, with the release of ‘Some Days Were Good…But Mostly It Was Grim’, Hound are expanding and redefining their infectious power pop sound: intricate guitar hooks, soaring vocal melodies, bombastic rhythm, encompassing themes of nostalgia, loss, romance, and yearning. As well as reflecting on the journey the band has taken, culminating in this release. “A bit American lo-fi, a bit Cribs-esque and a bit late 90s transit van band. None of them bad things in our book" - Steve Lamacq
