For Southeast D.C. Multi-instrumental, producer, composer and DJ, Reggie Volume (also known as RVOL) music serves as a conduit for sonic storytelling, weaving euphoria and transcendence through his beats. Immersing himself in the various sounds of fusion jazz, funk and gospel, that his parents imparted onto him at a young age, lead to his formal music learning through school (alto sax) and producing for his school friends. Reggie considers himself a student of J Dilla, The Neptunes, Timbaland and Missy. In college he formed the alternative hip-hop band, ‘TiME MOVES’, with his cousin and lyricist NKO. The band went on to release 3 EPs and Perform at many venues over the DMV region including the legendary 9:30 Club. Once Reggie moved back to DC he maintained that collaborative spirit, forming the now defunct production/songwriting team The Hvns with earthtoyourbrain. Reggie has produced for many artists including: Wale, Fabolous, Ari Lennox, Alex Vaughn, Lilly Aviana, Mick Jenkins, Carolyn Malachai, Mannywellz, Reesa Renee and many others. This is shaping up to be quite the year for Reggie as he looks to build off the momentum of scoring the clothing brand WHENTHESMOKECLEARS ‘BIRD’S EYE’ SS24 NYFW SHOW (With his N*RTH ST*R production Partner Flaire) and his first remix series release, B*N*C*E VOL. 1. With the upcoming release of Black Moss, a joint project with New Jersey Rapper Hanz, He is well on his way to solidifying his reputation as a multi-genre master of sound.
