Tha Cypha is a rapper and spoken word artist who is heavily inspired by his faith, his experiences and the experiences of others. His goal is to engage the culture by creating art whose style and message is for the present time yet will remain relevant forever. Born Casper Mapurisa in Bulawayo Zimbabwe, this socially conscious artist fell in love with rap music and Hip Hop culture at the tender age of 5 from the influence of his older brother. However it’s only in high school where he started writing his own lyrics and rapping them with peers on school corridors during break time. At age 17, he recorded his first song after converting to the Christian faith. Apart from music, he also holds a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and loves nerd and geek culture. This reflects in his craft as he creates art that challenges the intellect and worldview as he addresses relevant topics across the spectrum.
