Across her 60-year career, Academy Award-nominated actress Amy Irving has built a captivating resume, from Shakespeare to ‘Carrie’, Arthur Miller to ‘Yentl’, and Chekhov to ‘Crossing Delancey’. In 2023, Irving shifted into music with her debut album, ‘Born In A Trunk’. “I was ready to move on to something different, something to light the fire in my belly,” Irving says. Her follow-up album, ‘Always Will Be’, out April 25, 2025, via Queen Of The Castle Records, continues this journey. After hearing her reimagined version of “I’m Waiting Forever,” a song Willie Nelson wrote for her after meeting on the set of 1980’s ‘Honeysuckle Rose’, Nelson suggested she record an album entirely of his songs. Irving agreed, collaborating with bandleader Goolis on 10 genre-defying tracks, from punk to samba to French pop, featuring guests Louis Cato, Steve Earle, Amy Helm, Lizzie No, Chris Pierce, and Nelson himself. Every song tells a story, and though penned by Nelson, Irving performs them as if they were her own, tied together by themes of love. “I’ve always been a romantic,” she says. Known for roles in ‘The Competition’, ‘Micki and Maude’, and ‘Crossing Delancey’, Irving brings her nuanced storytelling to music. On ‘Always Will Be’, she creates an arresting work that’s as dynamic as her career. “I’m finding something new,” she says, “and there’s nothing that makes you feel more alive.”
