Surya Botofasina is a Spiritual Being, a Spiritual Musician, a Spiritual Artist, on a Spiritual Quest, this is his orientation, his focus, practice, and identity as a Father, a Friend, a Family Member, "a child of the Ashram." Now, for the first time, Surya Botofasina is a lead recording artist, emerging with his debut full-length release Everyone's Children via Spiritmuse Records, (LP, Cassette, Digital / Friday, September 2, 2022.) Born and Raised in California, Surya credits his Mother Radha Botofasina (a Devotee, Student and Mentee of Swamini Turiyasangitananda) as his primary and most essential Musical Influence. "Without my Mother," he says,"there is no music, no person, no piano, no California, no Ashram. Her compositions and incredible list of collaborators over the decades have been beyond inspiring to me." Growing up on Swamini Turiyasangitananda Alice Coltrane's Sai Anantam Ashram in the Malibu Mountains, outside of Los Angeles, Surya recalls, "I took my first piano lesson at 8 years old, and my Mom bought me my first keyboard (a Casio SK-1) in elementary school. My piano lessons continually informed my ear on what I was hearing each Sunday in our Mandir (place of worship). My mother and her constant dedication to her recordings let me know what a real musician looks like, on a daily basis." Surya currently splits his time between New York and Southern California, dedicated to 'OneLove. Devotion. Life. Family. Music." He is a father of two beautiful beings.
