Roy Rogers grew up in Vallejo and graduated from Vallejo High School in 1968. He has been acknowledged as one on the premiere slide guitar players in the world having toured the globe for decades. His formative years in music began at age 13 performing in a rock n' roll band locally – but he soon discovered the great blues guitar players and especially Delta slide guitar. Through the years he developed his distinctive style of playing slide guitar - one that is instantly recognizable. With over 20 recordings to his credit, Rogers has garnered eight Grammy nominations for producing, recording and as a songwriter. He has collaborated with many renowned artists including John Lee Hooker, Bonnie Raitt, Ray Manzarek, Carlos Santana, Sammy Hagar and Norton Buffalo among many others. He is known world-wide for his talent and continues to tour with his band The Delta Rhythm Kings. In 2015, Roy Rogers & The Delta Rhythm Kings released Into the Wild Blue, the 22nd album of Rogers'. Look for his 2018 album release titled StringShot, coming from his trio band of the same name with artists' Badi Assad and Carlos Reyes.
