Solid State Theory, AKA Iain Combe, is a Manchester (UK) based DJ and producer. His journey started on the dancefloors of some of the most legendary club nights in the UK during the early 90s. By 1995, a successful career in DJing began under a number of aliases; mixing a range of genres from house and trance, to hardcore, Drum & Bass and hip-hop – although it took him well into the next millennia to pay off the finance on those first 1210s and Stanton Mixer! Stumbling across breakbeat and its sub-genre of progressive breaks in the late 90s, SST was further inspired by artists such as Sasha, Ils, Stanton Warriors, and Hybrid. Having created a thirst to start producing, SST sought to bring his own identity to the modern scene. After honing his skills, this passion and desire has witnessed successful launches of tracks such as ‘In Situ’, ‘Broken’ and ‘Final Horizon’. Described as dark and atmospheric, yet often uplifting and emotive, SST's tracks are high quality productions that sound incredible both in nightclubs or to accompany those spectacular Ibiza sunsets and spine tingling times in life. His releases have acquired attention within the DJ circuit, with remixes for Agustin Pietrocola and Science & Reason having quickly gained industry recognition for SST. His two tracks ‘In Situ’ and ‘Broken’ were on the ‘Best of Morphosis 2021’ album, whilst his tracks ‘Broken’ and ‘Final Horizon’ reached number 1 in the Retroid Revive Breaks charts in 2021 and 2022.
