Described as post britpop, prog, glam and punk, Ultrasound, preferring to remain uncategorisable, came together in London during the Summer of Britpop. They became the "victims" of a music industry buzz, culminating in them signing to Nude records, and releasing their double album “Everything Picture”, which reached number 17 in the charts and saw them lauded by the press and public alike, appearing at major festivals and on "Later with Jools Holland". Accomplishing far more than originally set out to achieve, the band split for 10 years. After reforming for a benefit gig, they discovered that the world had caught up with their music, their debut album was starting to be regarded as a cult classic of the 90’s. Since then they have recorded two highly regarded albums "Play For Today" (2012) and "Real Britannia" (2017), and toured several times headlining sell out shows. “ultrasound crush the opposition like a supernova zapping a meteorite shower” “here is a band that sing songs about the revolutionary properties of rock ‘n’ roll and has the good grace to make these songs actually feel revolutionary” “ultrasound remain a musical colossus…epic beyond the levels of all but the most corpulent stadium rockers” “they create such vast tapestries of familiar sounds into something that is utterly new and wholly their own” “a sound like the sky colliding with the earth is the ultimate triumph” “true revolutionaries, revelling in the central imagery of rock as they turn it on its head”
