Born in Neerpelt in 1964, journalist, reporter, and director Stijn Meuris began his music career in 1990 as the lead vocalist with Noordkaap, who won the Humo's Rock Rally contest, provided the soundtracks for Manneken Pis and Alles Moet Weg, and scored hits with "Ik Hou Van U" and "Satelliet Suzy" before disbanding in 2000. A year later, Meuris recruited several of his former bandmates to form a new outfit, Monza, with whom he released two studio albums before leaving in 2007. Three years later he topped the Flemish charts with his first solo effort, Spectrum, a collection of reworkings of his two bands' biggest hits. ~ Jon O'Brien, Rovi
