Biography

Raised in Coventry, Regan moved to London at 19 to attend the London College of Fashion before joining ZigZag magazine as a music writer. After interviewing post-punk band Gene Loves Jezebel in 1981, she joined on bass, with whom she recorded a Kid Jensen session. Post GLJ, Ivo of 4AD put her in touch with drummer Manuela Zwingmann of Xmal Deutschland, and with Angus Ferguson on bass, they became The Swarm. Tim Bricheno joined on guitar and the first line-up of All About Eve was formed. Zwingmann & Ferguson departed and Andy Cousin joined on bass. They continued as a 3-piece, with a drum machine. Regan’s backing vocals on The Mission's debut album drew the attention of Phonogram Records, while the songwriting team of Regan, Bricheno and Cousin, resulted in a publishing deal with BMG. The debut album spawned 3 top 30 singles, including the top 10 hit, Martha's Harbour. Bricheno left after the first two studio albums, his replacement being Marty-Willson Piper. After the band split, Regan went on to form the band Mice. She then co-wrote and sang three songs with The Eden House, and also recorded backing vocals with Wayne Hussey / The Mission, Memories of Machines & Judy Dyble. She gained a Masters Degree in Songwriting at Bath Spa Uni then joined the Uni as a full-time lecturer for 7 years. Regan and Bricheno have rekindled their songwriting partnership and released a single on Bandcamp in December 2023. An album is planned for release in mid 2024.
