Singing since the age of four, Carvin made his professional debut as a member of The Testimonial Singers in 1974 along w/ Howard Smith and his brothers Ronald & Marvin with their album “Love Covers” , he then formed the legendary group The Winans with his brothers, Ronald, Marvin & Michael. Over the past 50 years, Carvin released a plethora of award-winning music w/ The Winans, winning 5 Grammy Awards and 11 nominations. Additionally, he established himself as a formidable Songwriter/Producer, creating songs for other artists like Whitney Houston, Regina Belle, Peabo Bryson, Cece Winans, Ronald Winans, Mom & Pop Winans, Vanessa Bell Armstrong and Winans Phase II. In 2013, Winans joined forces with his brothers Marvin & BeBe to form 3 Winans Brothers, releasing an NAACP Image Award-winning Gospel album entitled "Foreign Land" and in Oct 2014 the album debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 10 Gospel Chart! In Sept 2024, Carvin released his Blackground Records 2.0 debut single & video "God Still Working On Me" which has been described as " a poignant reflection on the journey of personal growth and spiritual transformation." The highly anticipated Gospel album "You Gotta Believe" will launch in 2025. Carvin has been blessed to work with some of the most talented people in the music industry such as Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Anita Baker, Brian McKnight, Rodney Jerkins, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Tommy Sims, Kenny G, Carlos Battey, and Sean Garrett.
