Biography

Glasgow post-punk revivalists Bricolage formed in 2005 and began playing pop music heavily influenced by the Postcard sound, particularly that of Orange Juice, and the razor-sharp feel of Vic Godard & the Subway Sect. Comprised of Graham Wann and Wallace Meek on guitar and vocals, Darren Cameron on bass, keys, and vocals, and Colin Kearney on drums, the band released its first single, "Footsteps," for Scottish label Creeping Bent in the summer of 2006. Around this time, Kearney began playing in the much-hyped Royal We as well, which only served to add to the already considerable interest in Bricolage. In 2007 the group released two more singles, "Looting Takes the Waiting Out of Wanting" for Fantastic Plastic Records and "The Waltzers" for Memphis Industries. The band's self-titled debut album, which was produced by Stephen Lironi of Scottish pop heroes Altered Images, was released in January of 2009 by Creeping Bent in the U.K. and in May of the same year by Slumberland in the U.S. ~ Tim Sendra, Rovi
