Akins is a duo of two brothers Adam & Landon Akins based out of Bend, Oregon. From a young age they started jamming on ukuleles which led to guitars and it just went from there. Being homeschooled and playing at churches they started just being known around town and the Akins brothers. So they decided to use Akins as there stage name to commend their upbringing. Landon (who is only 16) has been heavily influenced by jazz and blues, really added the musical edge that this group needed the to shape it's sound. At the live shows you can catch him finding the tastiest licks and sweetest melodies. Adam (21) who goes to college for Economics, started getting into singing around 14 and starting pursuing it seriously around 19 when he left an internship for financial advising, He is a deep thinker and saw music as a outlet for expression. Lyrically motivated to make lyrics seem like conversations with yourself has been his goal in songwriting. This pop/alternative duo who has been heavily melodically influenced by the likes of John Mayer, Charlie Puth and Ed Sheeren, makes it their goal to use music as a mental outlet for people in need of hope and love. Collaborating with producers like their good friend and incredibly talented Aosmos keeps the music emotional and thought provoking.
