How To Build A Lighthouse

The Home Version

Biography

Kevin Kane has worn many musical hats over the years: solo artist, record producer, session musician, educator, guitar builder, and is a founding member of 80s/90s Canadian chart-toppers The Grapes Of Wrath, known for hits such as “Peace Of Mind”, “All The Things I Wasn’t”, and “I Am Here”. The band continue performing to this day. Kane's first solo album, the starkly acoustic “Neighbourhood Watch” (1995), was followed by the also-acoustic “Timmy Loved Judas Priest” (2001), a collection of cover tunes and featuring guest appearances by Neko Case and Veda Hille. His third solo album - "How To Build A Lighthouse" (2007) - tood a full band approach and featured famed Brian Wilson percussionist Nelson Bragg on drums. “The Home Version” (2010) was a career-spanning collection of Grapes and solo material Kane was performing at house concerts. Kane is also in the band FAUXKNOW (with his wife, Nadia), releasing the albums “Tactics” (2016) and the EP “Sensitivity” (2022). As well, he is half of the duo Kane & Potvin, with Northern Pikes guitarist Bryan Potvin, formed in 2014 and releasing the albums “Live @ Andy’s” (2015) and “Kane & Potvin” (2016). Since 2017, Kane has also been a member of The Northern Pikes (known for hits such as “She Aint Pretty”, “Teenland”, and “The Things I Do For Money”), whose album “Forest Of Love” (2019) features 3 of his compositions. "Time To Time" (2023) is the band's latest release.
