Stefano Bollani considers music a game to be re-invented - whether solo in his legendary hilariously intelligent impromptu jukebox-like medley performances, or with partners such as Richard Galliano, Bill Frisell, Paul Motian, Chick Corea, his mentor Enrico Rava, or his “Danish Trio” (Jesper Bodilsen and Morten Lund). Bollani made his way inside orchestras such as the Gewandhausorchester, the Filarmonica della Scala and the Orchestre Nationale de Paris, guided by directors such as Riccardo Chailly or Daniel Harding. In 2017 he recorded his composition “Concerto Azzurro” for piano & orchestra (arranged by Paolo Silvestri) with the MDR Leipzig Radio Symphonic Orchestra/Kristjan Järvi. “Napoli Trip” (2016) consists of composed & improvised music of Bollani’s, inspired by the universe of traditional forms of popular Neapolitan Song with crackerjack Daniele Sepe, vibrant Nico Gori and dynamic Bernardo Guerra. Bollani’s new album “Que Bom”, a hymn to life, mainly consists of his original tunes informed by Brazilian music culture. Bollani is joined by the same outstanding Brazilian rhythm section as in successful “Carioca” (2008) - Jorge Helder, Jurim Moreira and Armando Marçal - plus Thiago da Serrinha, but in “Que Bom”, also by the guest stars Caetano Veloso, João Bosco, Jaques Morelenbaum and Hamilton de Holanda. To be released worldwide by Bollani’s own newly created label Alobar on 25 May 2018.
