Jenny Conlee is perhaps best known for her tenure as keyboardist and accordionist for indie icons the Decemberists — a 23-year run that has earned her everything from a Grammy nomination to guest spots on The Simpsons and Parks and Recreation. But even through that time, she has established herself within her hometown of Portland, Oregon as an enthusiastic collaborator and a font of musical inspiration. In addition to working with her own bands, the Jenny Conlee Quartet and the all-accordion ensemble Paper Bellows, she writes and records instrumental music for film (Voyagers Without Trace), podcasts (99% Invisible), and her own solo releases (2015’s French Kayaking Music, recorded with her husband Steve Drizos). Conlee’s resume continues to grow through her many guest appearances on albums and singles by the Minus 5, the Chieftains, Rhett Miller, and Boston Spaceships. Her new solo album "Tides: Pieces for Accordion and Piano" will be released on March 24th via Jealous Butcher Records.
