https://www.youtube.com/@alberto_massidda I was born in Cagliari on 3 April 1961 and music entered my life at 12 years old, when an English hippie boy taught me to play the guitar. My first guitar is another story. In those years, Gigi Riva, the scorer of Cagliari who won the Scudetto, who we called Luigi, came to my parents' house. Luigi had a guitar at home given to him by Fabrizio De André, his friend. Luigi didn't know how to play it and probably took my new passion to heart and gave it to me as a gift. Of course I still have it. My first passions were CSN&Y, James Taylor but also Led Zeppelin and this was the music we played throughout our adolescence in small bands in the city. In the early 80s I met Pino Daniele and it was love at first sight. Italian music was becoming more open to unexpected developments. Many references in the world: black music of the 70s but also Steely Dan, Pat Metheny Group, Prince, @Police and finally Brazilian music. Also in those years, dissatisfied, I started playing the saxophone and joined first the Crepes Suzettes and then Tomato Ketchup, a brilliant and unique band for those times. In the 90s I moved to Milan. I finally start to make a living from music, playing a lot with many musicians. And writing songs.
